With a degree in opera performance and many, many years of working with voice teachers in New York, London and Brisbane, I have been genuinely delighted to have found Kathryn and have happily recommended her to many of my colleagues. It’s quite easy after having a break from lessons (after my teacher retired) to fall into some bad habits, or rather, have them creep in unannounced. Kathryn has been a delight to work with, not only because singing is in her DNA and she is a highly experienced singer, but because she is also a qualified speech pathologist. This has enabled us to go right back to the basics: posture, breathing, support and vowel placement. So we’re unpicking the bad habits and sending them packing. What could have been a frustrating process has been highly enjoyable – Kathryn is heaps of fun – and hugely interesting. It’s been really insightful to get a glimpse into the science behind vocal production. That’s enabled me, and I’m sure her many other students, to quickly grasp what she is asking for and understand what we’re trying to achieve together. I can’t recommend her enough! - Rachael (student)
Kathryn has simply given me my life back. When you are a professional singer but suddenly “can’t sing” it’s like you are missing a piece of your soul! It was a very dark and confusing few years for me wondering why my voice wasn’t working as it had in the past. When I finally had the courage to ask for help, Kathryn was understanding, compassionate and positive. She was the first person in 5 years to pinpoint and understand what was going on with my voice. She also helped me rediscover my confidence which gave me the courage to significantly improve my technique. One of the things I love about my lessons with Kathryn is that she always has very relatable (and often hilarious) analogies to make her point in a way that resonates with me like never before. Kathryn is herself an accomplished musician, so she has a great understanding of a singer’s needs and headspace as well as a thorough knowledge of vocal pedagogy. I am truly indebted to her for getting me back on that stage doing what I love most!

Kathryn Morton, [is] a gifted choir director who guides her singers clearly and with energy through the varied musical styles… The powerful, fresh voices delighted the listeners with their outstanding flexibility. They convincingly mastered fortissimo, but also the complete opposite; staccato, but also fluently smooth transitions… The choir was rewarded with minutes of standing ovation for an impressive performance that ended with the addition of a farewell song. - Review from Wurzburg, Germany
Sound world of a different kind
Everything was controlled and held together by a few small movements by the conductor Kathryn Morton, who used no excessive gestures throughout the course of the concert…The young people sang everything from memory, so they constantly kept their eyes on the conductor, who only had to change her facial expressions, to indicate a crescendo…everything perfectly balanced rhythmically, dynamically and vocally. - Review from Coburg, Germany
